Returning Items

Library material may be returned at the Circulation desk of any library.
OR
After Hours box at all libraries. The box will be emptied ONCE daily ten minutes after opening time.

Short term loans and audiovisual material (CD's, DVD's, pictures, sheet music etc.) may only be returned at the library of origin.

Loans with special permission should also be returned to the Information Specialist who gave the initial permission after it was checked in at the Circulation Desk.

All short term loans / CDs / items with special permission should be returned in the library during operating hours.

Fines will be added if applicable and must be paid in due course.


Renew Items

Open collection books can be renewed unless it is reserved by another library user. If reserved the book must be returned strictly on time.

Courtesy notices will be sent 3 days before the items are due. The library is not liable for non–receipt of these mails. Please keep your current e-mail address updated on the UP Portal.

Options to renew library material:

  • Online:
      - My Library Space
      - Click on RENEW LIBRARY ITEMS
      - Log in with UP Portal login credentials
      - Click on CHECK OUTS
      - Click RENEW button for each book
      - Note due date displayed next to each book.
    - Take note once books are overdue or with fines, online renewal will not be possible
    Choose one of the following options -
  • In the library:
      - At the circulation counter, with your card.
  • Telephonically:
      - See contact details of home library.
  • E-mail:
      - Send us an e-mail or click link Ask / Chat to a Librarian (under "My Library Space")
      - Give your student/personnel/card number and the details of the book you want to renew.
