Information is vital for successful business and our library's role is to provide relevant, authoritative and up to date information. We support faculty, postgraduates (Masters and Doctoral), alumni, undergraduates, MBA students and external researchers in their research and curriculum activities within the Graduate School of Management, the School for Economic Sciences, School for Financial Sciences, School for Management Sciences and the School for Public Management and Administration.
The collections, both physical and electronic, cover most aspects of economics and management sciences including such specialities as accounting, auditing, business management and entrepreneurship, economics, financial management, human resource management, marketing and communication management, tourism management, taxation, public management and administration.
All clients are assisted by qualified Information Specialists, who are committed to providing a service that supports information literacy and lifelong learning. To this end, clients are trained regularly in the use of the appropriate electronic platforms and databases. The most widely used are Blackwell Synergy, EBSCO Host, Emerald, Info Trac, JStor, Proquest and Science Direct. For regional publications clients are directed to SA ePublications via Sabinet Online.
To enable the knowledge and information sharing experience in which the UP Economics and Management Sciences community exchanges and uses ideas, expertise and information, we commit ourselves to fostering an environment of respect, professionalism, co-responsibility and accountability. We therefore invite you to visit us at Level 2 of the Department of Library Services, Merensky Library.
