The Music Library came into existence in 1960, at the same time as the Department of Music. Because of the uniqueness of its collection - mainly sheet music and gramophone records - it was established on its own premises as a branch of the Department of Library Services. Today its extensive collections include books, serials, sheet music, cd's, gramophone records, dvd's and videos. Orchestral music is a major component of the sheet music collection. The audio-visual facilities include listening tables and a sound proof room for videos and dvd's.
