Self-submit your thesis
or dissertation to the UPeTD repository
Self-submit your research to the Internet. Your work will
enjoy increased visibility on the Internet as well as preferential
treatment in the workflow after graduation!
The policy for mandatory submission of all theses and dissertations
was adopted in 2004, which requires students to submit paper
and electronic copies of their theses or dissertations to
the postgraduate office of the relevant faculty. Alternatively,
students may self-submit their theses or dissertations in
the UPeTD repository (http://upetd.up.ac.za). A practical
training session will be presented to all postgraduate students,
showing them step by step how to self-submit a dissertation
or thesis in the UPeTD repository.
Dates: Tuesday, 23 October 2012, 8:30–10:30
OR Thursday, 25 October 9:00–11:00
Venue: Training Room 1, Merensky Library,
Hatfield Campus
Requirements: Please bring a final PDF version
of your thesis or dissertation so that you can learn how to
self-submit it during the workshop.
Attendance is free of charge, but please register with Hendriette
Jansen van Vuuren (hendriette.jansenvanvuuren@up.ac.za) for
refreshment purposes.
Please supply the following information:
- name and surname; and
- department and faculty.
After the submission process your research will undergo an
evaluation process, after which it will be made publicly available
following your graduation in September. The Open Scholarship
Office will give all self-submissions preferential treatment
in the UPeTD workflow. These items will be released first.
