The collections
contain digitised historical and other material of interest to the
veterinary science community. The Repository
is a gateway to valuable research and educational material within
and beyond South Africa. The collections include
digital resources such as photos and slides,
postcards, books, journal articles, etc. Read more about the different collections |

The South African
National Veterinary Repository is an effort to
make important and rare resources available to the international
community.
It is managed and maintained by the project committee consisting of
personnel of UP. The collective web interface
will be maintained by the Jotello F. Soga Library.
The History Committee
of the SA Veterinary Association acts in an advisory capacity.

The SANVR is committed to implementing the most current international standards and
technologies for the presentation of Internet resources. All
of the resources contain Dublin Core metadata. The metadata creators of the SANVR
adheres to relevant standards and encoding schemes in
populating the metadata fields and digitising the materials. To
aid in the discovery of resources SANVR uses the DSpace
software for uploading the digital material.
